Event 1: Walk the future Squannacook River Rail Trail - Sat Sep 28

Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., in Townsend, MA

Come and walk along the future Squannacook River Rail Trail as it parallels the beautiful Squannacook River, recently designated as a part of the National Wild & Scenic River System. Learn more here.

This presentation is part of the year-long series of free programs being presented in NRWA watershed communities as part of NRWA’s celebration of its 50th Anniversary (1969 to 2019).
Event 2: Volunteer day #1: Sat Oct 19 9:00 am -1 pm - Brush clearing

Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 9 am to 1 pm

Meet at Depot Street in Townsend. Please bring work gloves, and if you have them, brush clippers or pruning saws to clear brush in preparation for wattles to be installed. If have a chain saw and have been trained, those are welcome too. See our Facebook event for my details.

Event 3: Volunteer day #2: Sat Nov 2 9:00 am - 1 pm - Wattles installation

Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 9 am to 1 pm

Meet at Depot Street in Townsend. Please bring work gloves and a hammer for putting in wooden stakes. If you have a wheel barrow, please bring that also. See our Facebook event for my details.

 

We will be installing wattles in areas near wetlands.
